I'll Spend My
Days Singing

There is none in all the earth,

Or even in the vast universe;

Nor in all of eternity:

There is none like Thee!

From high above the boundless heavens

You look into my life, and my heart, even.

You dwell outside of time and space

And see me here in my small place.

I live a life with hurts and pains,

And some small joys and gains.

But You, Oh, Lord, have a different vision

Made possible by Your Son, now risen.

God’s gift of eternal is free;

He offers it to you and me.

Salvation is bestowed by grace alone;

No cunning plan of man can atone.

Jesus, only You could pay the price

That demanded a blood sacrifice.

A pure and blameless life You led

And then on the cross You bled.

While I enjoyed the world I live in,

Christ was on the cross, dying for my sin.

His blood was spilled for my atonement,

Before e’er I knew what that word meant.

An abyss yawned between God and I

When Jesus came down from heaven to die.

There is no greater love than this:

Jesus laid down His life to bridge the abyss.

O, happy day that I did understand

And accept the gift in His out stretched hand!

Jesus is mine, and I am His—forever!

He will never leave me, never!

For now I truly dwell with You, by grace;

And I find in You a hiding place.

When my life is threatened by storm and shower,

You are my sheltering tower.

When my heart pounds with fear,

You come, and hold me near.

When life’s events bring sorrow,

You promise me a better tomorrow.

When through the valley of death I trod,

My life was hid with Christ in God.

The enemy’s aim: to destroy my faith—

Overcome by the power of my Savior’s death.

I’ve been washed, cleansed and justified;

And by His Spirit, sanctified.

Reconciled, redeemed, at peace,

For I know His love will never cease.

When the day comes that I die,

I’ll be with Jesus in the blink of an eye.

There will be joy everlasting

And I’ll spend my days singing:

There is none in all the earth,

Or even in the vast universe;
